URGE REPRESENTATIVES TO SUPPORT CREDIBLE CAFE BOOST BILL
NADA ACTION ALERT
In the frenzy to pass legislation to address global warming, the Senate has recently passed an extreme and unachievable fuel economy standard of a combined car and light-truck standard of 35 mpg by 2020.
The full House of Representatives is likely to consider a similar proposal as
early as
next week. These CAFE proposals serve as the greatest threat to vehicle choice
in more
than a decade.
The House energy debate, which will take place in the next several days,
may be the
last and best opportunity to affect the outcome of the CAFE debate.

AFRAID OF SHOPPING FOR A CAR? GET OVER IT

It seems that some people dread the idea of shopping for a car or
truck at an auto dealership, but how rational is that fear? Based on my experience over the past few weeks, the process is not nearly as bad
as some claim.

Chrysler has partnered with Chery, a Chinese government-owned automaker, to design, produce and distribute small and sub-compact models in
the United States within the next two years.
Chery is one of China’s fastest growing automakers, with sales around 300,000 units in 2006. The size of the vehicles will be comparable to that of the currently produced Chevrolet Aveo, Nissan Versa, and Honda Fit. However, Chrysler and Chery plan on “beefing up” the Chinese version to accommodate demands and expectations of American drivers with a MSRP of around $10,000.
