AMENDMENT 41
INJUNCTION AFTERMATH
The
troubled-from-the-start and highly regressive Amendment 41 suffered
a near-
death blow last Thursday when
Denver District Court Judge Christina Habas issued
a temporary injunction
preventing implementation of the artificially and unreasonably low
gift ban.
Amendment 41 has been rightfully criticized by the masses as more
and more unintended consequences became apparent by various
Coloradans, business
owners and public officials.
Auto
dealers, other business owners, and, indeed, all Coloradans won with
last week's hard-fought and long-anticipated decision. Your
association leaders actively spoke out during the campaign and since
its passage at the ballot box. In fact, had
it not been for auto
dealers and other dealer membership organizations across the state, the effort to educate
the public and to block the implementation of Amendment 41 would
have not been organized or even sought.
Below are just a few of the
articles that ran in newspapers around the state in response to this
action.

Auto dealers and the public win at
the statehouse...and the courthouse
The cheers could be almost heard throughout the Rocky Mountains, as
Denver District Judge Christina Habas issued her decision in the
litigation ruling against Amendment
41. The case brought by the First
Amendment Council against Gov. Ritter as the representative of Colorado
concerned the constitutionality of Amendment 41.
